A new chapter begins!!

Some quick news things:

The short story I made for Augur magazine ("Bonds of the Forest") has been nominated for an Aurora Award by the Canadian Sci-Fi and Fantasy Association! I'm very proud of the story and I'm really excited to have been nominated.

I'm gonna be at TCAF this year! Though, I'll be manning the Screen Tones Podcast table, as opposed to having my own. We don't have table numbers yet, but I'll post about it in the news here once we hear back about those. If you'll be in Toronto and coming by the show, I hope you say hi!

After TCAF, I'll be at a couple more shows at least-- Yeticon in Collingwood, and Fan Expo at the end of August in Toronto. I've applied to a couple more, but haven't heard back yet. The homepage of my main portfolio site has the current complete list of appearances.

I think that's all the actual news for now. The next page will be up on Thursday!

And chapter 16 is FINISHED!!! Got some fun stuff coming up in the story :B Chapter 17 will start in 2 weeks, see you then!

Nearing the end of chapter 16! I think when I launch chapter 17, that's when I'll return to twice-weekly updates (Monday and Thursday), so... look forward to it :)

Also I got a couple of shows coming up! I'll be tabling at Fanfest @ Home in Mississauga this weekend (a Final Fantasy XIV event), then I'll be running the Screen Tones Podcast booth at TCAF this year, and tabling at Yeticon in July. The only other show I'm currently confirmed at is Fan Expo Toronto in August, but I'll update if anything changes.

Some speculations.

A couple of news things today! 

Item 1: I finished chapter 17! It's up in my Patreon for Spoilerzone followers. It's a fairly long chapter, so on giving it some thought, I've set myself a goal: if I can get the entirety of Chapter 18 sketched by March (or at least 30 pages, if it turns out to be another monster), I'll start updating twice-weekly again. So far I'm at 11 pages sketched towards that goal, hopefully I'll get there!

Item 2: Some may have already seen this, but if anyone is curious about why I (and many other creators) exited Hiveworks over the past couple of years, the Hiveworks Guild put together a statement (hosted with the assistance of the Cartoonist Co-Op) about what went down. You can read the statement here.

I hesitated to withdraw my books from the Hivemill store even after I formally departed Hiveworks over the summer, in part because of all the uncertainties about shipping internationally, but since then I've found some services that have made the cost of mailing books to people in the US much more reasonable. So as of this week, folks might notice that the link at the top of the page now leads to my Bigcartel instead of Hivemill.

I'll be looking into ways of expanding my store this year; currently I'm still using the free version of Bigcartel, which limits how many products I can display, and means I can only have one preview image per product. As the free version doesn't allow for digital downloads, my ebooks are currently hosted on itch.io. I'll update once anything changes!

Anyway, I think that's all the news I got for now.

I've got some news: I'm planning a Kickstarter to print an omnibus edition of Chirault Volume 1 and 2! There's a prelaunch page up for people to follow :D

Happy new year! This year, I'm hoping to get the comic back to 2x a week updates, and I have a couple of printing plans that I'll share more about.... soon.
